Program Information Michigan State offers six M.S. and Ph.D. programs in environmental and resource economics. Each is designed for different career goals. What are your goals? If you have the capabilities, interest, and desire, you can meet your goals at MSU. Students select their course program with the help of a faculty advisor and guidance committee. Students work closely with their committee to prepare a research paper or thesis. The committee also helps a student evaluate career opportunities. Students refine their skills by involvement in research and teaching. Most faculty have research projects that pay students to help in research. Teaching assistantships allow students to work with faculty in teaching college-level courses. Once you apply for admission, you will be considered for financial assistance. Assistance may be a grant, a fellowship, or a paid research or teaching position.
